Product Overview
The Toyota / Daihatsu K3-VE and K3-DE 1.3L gasoline engines are highly reliable, compact powertrains widely utilized across a vast range of global compact cars and light commercial vehicles. Displacing 1,298cc, this inline-4, DOHC 16-valve engine platform was originally developed by Daihatsu and heavily integrated into Toyota’s vehicle lineup. The primary distinction between the two models lies in the valvetrain: the K3-VE features Dynamic Variable Valve Timing (DVVT) for enhanced fuel efficiency and output (up to 92 HP), while the K3-DE utilizes a standard DOHC setup (86 HP) that prioritizes mechanical simplicity, most often found in commercial applications.
These engines serve as direct replacements for highly popular models, including the Toyota Avanza, Yaris, Echo, bB, and Rush, as well as the Daihatsu Terios, Sirion, and Gran Max. Due to their exceptional durability and excellent fuel economy, the K3 series remains in high demand across the global automotive aftermarket.
For B2B buyers, auto parts wholesalers, and engine rebuilders, sourcing K3-VE or K3-DE bare engines and complete assemblies provides a highly profitable solution for aftermarket repairs and fleet maintenance. Whether supplying independent repair shops or large-scale distributors, this 1.3L engine platform delivers exact OEM fitment, restored performance, and outstanding wholesale value. Buyers must verify the specific engine version (VVT vs. non-VVT) and mounting layout (transverse FWD vs. longitudinal RWD) to ensure exact compatibility.
